Description:
Aria is a very sweet person who will go out of her way to help anyone in need...as long as they aren't rude that is. She is good with children, and has often dreamt of having some of her own. She just has to find the right man. Some people think she's a hopeless romantic, especially when they see her reading about people finding their true love. But in her own mind she sees nothing hopeless about a woman who wants to find the right man for her. So she usually spends her time ignoring those people who make fun of her for it, or trying to totally avoid them. It isn't that she dislikes them, but their teasing does get annoying after awhile.
Aria is petrified by tunnel snakes, and if she finds herself alone with one, she screams and tries to run the other way. That is why she almost always has her wher with her. She doesn't like being alone for very long, as this causes her to feel extremely vulnerable. Something she tries to avoid entirely. It's hard to explain why she fears healers so much, but I guess the main reason is because she doesn't trust them, and is afraid they'll do something to really harm her. So she never, I repeat NEVER goes to see one by herself. Which means she usually has to physically drag someone along with her.

Polka-Dots:EEDD82 Light Goldenrod
Bonded's Size in Feet: 25ft.
Bonded's Age: 5 Turns
Bonded's Personality:
Ariask is a very proud gold who has a dangerous temper. It doesn't take much to set this wher off, and when she does explode...run! She won't hesitate to use force to get her way, though she doesn't like unnecessary violence. After all, there is no need to injure a perfectly healthy individual who could be fighting to protect their homes. Protecting...the one thing this female understands wholeheartedly. She almost never let's Aria out of her sight for very long. Oh, and just a fore-warning, Aria is Ariask's temper switch, so be careful on how you deal with the two of them.
Ariask can actually be a very sweet wher, especially when it comes to the young, especially her young. Which brings out her gentle, playful side, which is actually a very rare occurrence, even when she's with her own young. The only creature in all of Pern that can truly make this large, dangerous female look like a playful kitten is her handler. Oh, and one other thing, Ariask has an issue with sharing...in other words...she doesn't do it willingly, and the only times she has shared anything is when Aria makes her.
Bonded's Appearance:
Araisk is a very, very large gold that looks a lot more delicate than she actually should. She might be tall when measured from the ground to her shoulders, but she is surprisingly skinny. She has been looked at by a bunch of healers, and every single one of them have said that she's as healthy as she can be. So despite her large height, she is a sleek, delicate, feminine Queen with all the power that goes with that title. So don't let her looks fool you, she is still a very dangerous creature that should be treated with respect.
Ariask is a typical gold in color with goldenrod wings. Her gold hide fades to a dark goldenrod in color around her underside, and she has tiger stripes that run from the tip of her muzzle, to the tip of her tail. She has very light goldenrod polka-dots all over her body. It kinda looks like someone stuck a bunch of very bright glows onto her hide. In all it all actually looks surprisingly well put together. Despite all the contrasting colors.
Mind-Voice:
Ariask's Aria safe.
Ariask's voice is surprisingly gentle on one's mind, and has a slight sing-song quality to it. It is actually very pleasant to listen to...as long as she isn't yelling at you. When she gets angry the volume of her voice raises, and it becomes very harsh, and unpleasant to listen to. When she gets upset about anything her voice loses it’s sing-song quality, and starts sounding like a screaming banshee who’s out to eat you.
History
Family:
- Arual - Father - 49 - Farmer
- Igamia - Mother - 46 - House Wife
Where They Were Born/Where They Were From: Antaris
Where They Are Now: Antaris Wherhold
Written History:
Aria was born in Antaris Weyr nineteen turns ago. Her mother was a happy young woman, who fell in love with one of the local farmers. After a few turns of pursuing the young man, he too fell in love with tenacious woman. The two of them were together for five turns before their only child was born. Every healer they had gone to said it was a miracle that Igamia had gotten pregnant in the first place. That is why they were always so over protective of her as she was growing up, though, her mother was always more protective of her than her father was.
This was mainly because of what her mother called, "The War of Pern". Igamia was so worried that if her little girl went out into the world, that she would never return. This was a topic of many arguements between Aria's parents. The young girl didn't understand what was really going on outside of her family's home, but that would all change in the distant future. In the mean time, she lived her life in a pretty sheltered way.
Aria's mother would never let her out of her site, and whenever the young child would sneak away, Igamia would start screaming and crying. So it didn't take Arual long to figure out that he would have to start taking her with him when he went to work or the poor child would never be able to leave their home. So as she got older, she was allowed more and more freedom with each passing turn. When she turned fourteen her parents finally took her to Antaris Wherhold for her birthday. They had spent the entire day at the Wherhold, and now that it was after dark they were getting read to leave when they heard someone screaming.
It was the worst sound Aria had ever heard, but not long after they heard the scream, they saw something that would change their lives forever. After they had heard the scream, they had walked over to where a group of people were standing and whispering amongst themselves excitedly. Then the crowd of people started moving, and that's when they saw what had caused that scream. A young girl had just been badly mauled by a very large gold wher. Aria was so mesmerized by the way the creature looked, that she couldn't turn her eyes away from it. After all, they had stumbled upon a wher hatching.
That's when the young wher turned her head, and stared at Aria. After what seemed like an eternity, but was actually only a few minutes, the young wher made her way over to where Aria was standing. She was still mesmerized by the wher, but was quickly brought back to reality when she felt a very sharp pain her leg. She winced, and gasped at the pain, then she realized that the wher was licking the blood from where she had been cut. Later on she came to learn that the young wher was making a blood bond. That didn't make the experience any less scary though.
Needless to say Aria's mother didn't want to leave her in the Wherhold, but after hours upon hours of arguing with her father and the woman that had been the Alpha handler at the time, her and Ariask were allowed to stay. It was hard saying goodbye to her family, but she soon became accustomed to her new life. Having Ariask at her side made everything so much easier for her. If it hadn't been for the bond between her and her golden wher, she probably wouldn't have made it through wherling training. That was the hardest two turns of her life! Well, in her opinion it was anyways.
It wasn't long after Ariask's third run that the old alpha handler became sick, and passed away. Since Aria had the only gold within the Wherhold at that time, she became the new alpha handler, something she didn't truly want. She had never wanted to much responsibility, but there was no way out of it for her. She slowly gave up on trying to get out of the position, and finally became the alpha handler she needed to be. Now she runs the Wherhold as smoothly as someone her age could possibly be expected to, after all, there are still a lot of things this young woman needs to learn. There is one thing that this Alpha Handler does know. She prays every morning that nothing bad will happen to Antaris, and that the Renegades give up soon so that no one she loves will get hurt because of the fighting. Her and Ariask have both vowed to do everything in their power to keep the Renegades from taking over their Weyr.
