Threelines
Username: Diogenessbeast
Character Number: 2
Name: Threelines. It may not be the name he was born with, but it's the name he goes by.
Age: 13
Rank: Will be candidate
Weyr: Will be renegades, when he gets there
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Pan
Appearance:
ThreeLines isn't very tall, and he's basically skin and bones- life as a holdless in the already impoverished holds has taken it's toll. His face is long and angular, and he's pretty lanky- he promises to grow slightly more. At the moment he's 5'5". He has bright green eyes and is fairly pale, with thin features and sandy-blonde hair, usually covered in a heavy layer of mud.
Personality:
ThreeLines has developed the sort of shrewd quickness required to live on the streets. He's very adaptable and capable of thinking fast on his feet.
He's a touch nervous and wary of people, as one might expect. He questions people's motives constantly, and whenever he's asked to do things, his first question is "what's in it for me." He's actually his primary motivation: not from a natural inclination of selfishness, but because when homeless in the impoverished holds under the control of Ataris, you have to put yourself first if you want to survive.
It's surprising, since he hasn't been educated, but ThreeLines is incredibly intelligent. He's quick and witty, and good with language-- but only spoken language. Because he was never formally educated, he doesn't know how to read, and he only knows a handful of words by sight: ones he writes on the walls. He also doesn't know math, though he shows promise in learning it-- he's just never had the chance. His intelligence usually manifests more as cleverness-- interesting little shortcuts he finds that make his life easier, and survival easier.
That said, Threelines is very quiet, and many take him for a mute on first meeting him. He learned early on that keeping his mouth shut was occasionally the wiser option. He will talk, if he needs to.. but he's pretty quiet, most of the time.
He's both proud and stubborn- though he's not proud in a stubborn way. Rather then being the sort of pride that makes him dig in his heels, ThreeLines is proud of his resilience and his adaptability. He's proud to be fluid. His pride is sort of an exuberant celebration of the things he does: it manifests in a big grin and puffing out his chest. IF someone notes his work, he'll grin and nod and say, 'yeah, that's mine.' His stubbornness comes in when people tell him to do things he doesn't want to do- he'll dig in his heels and refuse to do things anyway but his way. This will inspire a tendency to Rebel against things he doesn't agree with.
Once you get past his initial wariness, he's actually quite friendly. He'll accept anyone: come as you are. He's certainly in no position to judge anyone, and he knows it. He likes to have fun and a good time: this frequently involves drinking and going out at night and drawing on things. He's mischievous- he likes to play around and get into things. He also loves chaos, and is a bit of an anarchist.
ThreeLines is a daydreamer; when he's alone, he likes to imagine grand possibilities for himself. It's part of what inspires his art, which flows out of his fingers regardless of what happens-- he'll pick up random rocks and test them to see if they make lines when dragged across a flat surface, and if they do, he'll draw crazy and vivid things. That's, of course, if he can't get (and by get, we mean steal) paint, or something else more permanent. If he can, he'll cover whatever's near him in brightly colored strangeness. It's almost like it's an impulse he can't control.
The concept of personal property is lost on ThreeLines, which may be why he doesn't have any qualms about drawing all over buildings and objects, or filching things when he can.

History
Threelines was not born under the name Threelines, but he can't imagine much about his early life. He remembers his mother a little, but not what she named him. His memories of her are of a very young, beautiful lady-- at least, he is beautiful in his memories of her. She used to sing to him. He never knew his father, but his mother caught a fever and died when he was very young, barely old enough to fend for himself. He remembers crying for days.
Eventually, he found himself amongst a larger group of orphans and other homeless miscreants, living off the streets. They begged for food and ate trash. Three-lines was silent, for his first few times amongst them, and ignored them most of the time to do things like draw on walls with chalk. That young, all he could really do was make squiggles and lines. A pattern emerged: he would frequently draw three lines, in addition to whatever he was doing: three verticle dashes to test the rock he was using for chalk. The others picked up on it, and called him ThreeLines. He kept the name, and made it his signature.
And that's how he spent most of his life. Lurking on the edges of the holds, a vagrant, begging and stealing for his food.
Recently, Threelines has gotten himself in a bit of trouble with Ataris. See, that tendency he had to draw on the walls never really stopped. Rather, it flourished.. and he got better at drawing with practice. Recently, he's been taking to proudly drawing more politically motivated cartoons, frequently featuring the dragonriders of Ataris. They really frown on that sort of thing, as it turns out, and his willingness to claim his work was not in his best interests. He is now doing his very best not to be found by them.
Candidate Info
Honorific: Give me some time to figure this one out, since I dont think 3'||| is going to work.
Preferences:
Anything. any color, any gender. Bring it on! I only request at least 10+ words ofadjctives for personality, and more is always better, because I need to get into the character to play them properly. I'd also apreciate colorful designs, with markings and colors and the whole shebang, but the priority is personality. :3 just feel free to go crazy. No more specific preferences then that.
