200 Turns have passed since Pern was changed. With the refusal of the oldtimers to move south, and the hatching of mutation colors, war ravaged the Northern Continent, leaving only 4 strongholds left. Benden Weyr. Fort Weyr. Telgar Weyr. And High Ruins.The outcasts have long-since taken over what was left of High Reaches Weyr, making their own sanctuary where they can live with their mutation colored dragons, with their war hounds, and their families. It is a place where one is not judged by the color they ride, or if they ride at all. It is almost a perfect place, but nothing is perfect. Though the war is over, the scars run deep. Both the Weyrs and the Ruins still attack one another, they still raid and pick at old wounds, furthering the conflict in a grueling war of attrition. Lead by a Bluerider, High Ruins must continue to survive. With tension running high among dragonriders and hound handlers, and now the discovery of a strange, new creature, will the Ruins continue to survive? And what of the Weyrs? While one offers peace, are the others simply gathering their strength to wipe out the Ruins?
