Character
Username: Sari/Raii
Character Number: 5
Name: Seraphi
Age: 18 turns
Rank: Dragonrider/Journeyman harper
Weyr: Renegade Camp Weyrhold
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Homosexual
Appearance: Although she does look a bit like her twin sister, the two are quite different. Both Seraphi and Siraphe have similar builds, however. The twins are rather tall and curvy women, the type of build that seems to come with power. Seraphi is about 5'10" in height, and her sister is not much shorter. Of the two, Seraphi is the curvier. She has wide hips and a large bust. Similarly, she has a long waist, a strange combination with curves. Of course, this makes her quite popular with the males, but she has no interest in them. Of course, she also has broad shoulders and large hands, a much more manly trait. While her sister is curvy, she is much less so than Seraphi. Also, Siraphe does not have the broad shoulders or manly hands.
Both girls have dark hair, but this is not odd. After all, most pernese people have brown or black hair. Seraphi's is much lighter than her sister, a smooth brown in color. She also keeps it a bit longer. The style varies from day to day, but she tends to stick with more predictable styles, oddly enough. Pigtails, a ponytail, or simply letting it out...not exactly what one would expect from the woman, to say the least. Her hair is relatively straight, though it can gain a slight wave at times. An odd feature about her hair is that it seems to match her eyes well. In fact, her brown eyes are only a few shades deeper than her hair.
In skin, Seraphi is rather ordinary as well. Although she isn't too dark in color, her skin is relatively tan. A healthy tan, perhaps, with the kind of skin that doesn't burn easily, if at all. It's a good thing she doesn't burn, because Seraphi dresses with the weather. During summer, she wears very little at all. In fact, the amount of clothing she does wear will likely be very close to slutty...if only it were meant that way. No, she simply 'dresses down' because she is overly sensitive to the heat. This works the other way, of course: during winter, she wears massive coats, often indoors. No one knows exactly why she is so sensitive to the temperature, as she is quite healthy in shape and strength.
Personality: Eccentric, abrasive, rough, easygoing, relaxed, carefree, harsh, ill-mannered, loud, talkative, frivolous, foolhardy, careless, opinionated, stubborn, teasing, humorous, spontaneous, unpredictable
Seraphi is quite an odd woman, to say the least. She has a big personality, the type that can easily overwhelm others. This woman has more than her fair share of strange behaviors. Many have commented on her odd conduct in the past. An example of one of her many odd quirks is the fact that she tends to 'abuse' those she cares for most. Oh, she won't really hurt them, but she will push, shove, smack, and even punch. Naturally, all of it is done rather playfully, but it is still rather odd. Although she acts this way, she has surprisingly little temper. It takes quite a bit to get on her bad side, and she is often easygoing and relaxed. As one may guess, Seraphi is rather carefree.
Regardless of her good-natured attitude, Seraphi is a bit abrasive. She can be harsh and rough around the edges, though certainly nothing worse than this. Her manners leave a bit to be desired, to say the least. For one thing, she seems to lack an indoor voice. She is loud, but also in that she is rather talkative. Although this woman talks quite a bit, she isn't the best person to confide in. Once a conversation begins to take a serious turn, she will immediately change the subject. Such topics make her feel rather uncomfortable. In fact, Seraphi tends to avoid the more serious matters often. She often acts dismissive of more important things, both in this way and in others. If someone warns her about the dangers of something, for example, she will simply wave it off. As a result, she will often make careless mistakes. Seraphi certainly doesn't take anything seriously.
This woman is quite opinionated: she has her own beliefs, and she will never be afraid to stand up for them. Unfortunately, she tends to push her beliefs on others. She tends to be a bit stubborn when it comes to such things. This is not to say that she believes she is always right. Surprisingly, Seraphi does not have an egotistical bone in her body. She tends to make jokes at her own expense, in fact. She isn't down on herself, of course. Instead, she is confident enough to do so without taking it seriously and humble enough to actually do so. Often, however, she makes jokes at others expense as well. She doesn't mean to be rude about it, she is simply a teasing person by nature. She loves to crack jokes, but sometimes her humor is a bit mean.
Of course, she doesn't mean any harm, and will often stay away from subjects that others take offense to. However, she will never stay away from perverted jokes or allusions. Many people take offense to these, but she loves making them anyways. Similarly, she loves embarrassing others. She finds it funny as well as fun, and if she gets a cute little blush out of them...well that's even better! Seraphi absolutely loves cute things, after all! As one may guess, her 'type' tends to be cute, shy girls. Unfortunately, Seraphi tends to have short flings rather than long term relationships. Her current record is a three month relationship, which is considered long by her standards. The reasoning behind this is that Seraphi finds herself bored of the mundane. Whenever things get too similar from day to day, she needs to change it up a bit. She prides herself on being rather unpredictable (as her antics show) and likes to keep her life the same way.
Bonded
Bonded'sName: Diatemith
Bonded's Type: Green Dragon
Bonded's Gender: Female
Bonded's Hex Codes: F0FFF0; 00CD00; 003300
Bonded's Size in Feet: 30 feet (If this is okay? I can change this.)
Bonded's Age: 1 turn
Bonded's Personality: Diatemith has a strangely nocturnal bent about her. Not that she doesn't function perfectly well in the daylight, as well, but perhaps between her pale, easily burnt hide and her natural energy and vibrance, she does not require the same amount of sleep. She stays awake later and rises earlier than most dragons, though. You can expect relatively frequent complaints about the fact that she enjoys the night air, but cannot fly properly or see very far in it.
Like her rider, she can be supremely opinionated. And alas, if she ever gets into a battle of wills with Seraphi, there will probably be heavy casualties, as she will not give up her ground easily. One possible area of argument is the fact that Diatemith will always consider males lesser. Not because of any true reason or sexism, but merely because of some instinctive distrust. Whether they are human or dragon, males will find themselves constantly spoken down to, which can be rather amusing given her own low rank. Any attempts by bronzes and male grayscales to put her in her place will most likely be retaliated against by violence. This will always make her flights eventful, and don't be surprised if she attempts, however futilely, to encourage other females to chase her as well.
Diatemith is strange in regards to the value of life, and of injury. She enjoys hunting for sport as well as food, and will likely make a welcome addition to hunting parties and watch-groups when she is mature. Even during her youth, she was a valuable snake killer and pest consumer. She, however, does not approve of injury without the intent to kill. Maiming, she believes, is a far worse punishment than death, and unbefitting any but the most heinous crimes. However, she does understand the difference between petty injury- raking her claws across the flank of an insulting male, for example- and disabling harm.
She holds her physical prowess in the highest regard, and will never have to be prompted to practice drills or acrobatics. What she will need constant vigiliance about, though, is her mind. Intellectual pursuits bore her, her memory is horrible even for a dragon, and she can be counted on the ruin her grammar or use the wrong idiom at least twice a day. And never try to discuss some sort of delicate interpersonal or philosophical matter with her. Should she even deign to listen, she will likely be bored into a fury by the end of the first full minute. Why should she bother with this mushy, awkward nonsense. Make a decision and stick to it! And, stop being such a whiny baby!
While she doesn't spend much time speaking to other humans when Seraphi is a perfectly good mouthpiece, she will make a particular effort to inform anyone whining to herself or her rider in this fashion aware of just how worthless she thinks they are. Indeed, if she is speaking to you, you can probably expect a headache from the amount of volume and unadulterated disgust she's probably funneling into your mind. The sole exception to this rule, of course, is Siraphe, whom she will occasionally make the effort to speak with in more civil terms.
Her sense of humour is severely lacking, as well. She has no trouble finding amusement in the misfortune of others, but she does have trouble understanding jokes and common comedy. Not to imply that she is sadistic, of course. She wouldn't especially wish bad luck on anyone- unless they're an uppity male trying to do things they shouldn't- but when it does happen, she doesn't feel bad about gaining pleasure from their pain.
Bonded's Appearance: Though she will one day grow into a powerful creature designed for airborne acrobatics, she will always be among the smallest dragons, and it is little surprise that this tiny, frail looking hatchling was mistaken for white at her birth. She is in the habit of dragging her wings and tail when she walks, but that is born of youthful laziness, rather than lack of strength, and the habit will fade as she grows older. Still, her tail and wingfingers are well on their way to becoming tough, leathery masses, and Seraphi's easygoing attitude doesn't help with it.
Most of her body is pale enough to be mistaken for a white, but the greenish tint along her tail and paws might have some people thinking she's an albino. Until she opens her wings, revealing a shock of searing lime patterns over a dark, forest green base. The circular patterns, varying in brightness and thickness, seem to make her wings ripple as they move. The vaguely hypnotic effect will become known for stunning herdbeasts into an unusual stillness when she hunts.
She moves with strange strength for a newborn, presumably inherited from her muscular bronze clutchfather. Although she will always be a powerful creature, she will never be graceful. She will always be small, but she'll never be one of those dragonesses who grows soft from regular feeding, instead building muscle with an enviable ease. She will grow to have an almost masculine build, with blocky haunches and a small head, but her long, pointed wings and tail will help to add femininity to her silhouette.
Bonded's Mindvoice: Low and rough, when Diatemith speaks her voice charges past 'breathy' and instead she sounds as if she is growling. But, her words are always perfectly clear.
Bonded's Inspiration: Yes, she is based off of both Artemis and Diana. <3
Note: This dragon was made for her by Vergess of Sapphos Weyr.
History
Siera was a greenrider, and Aphien was a wherhandler, living in Antaris weyr. Regardless of their environment, the two had a quaint and quiet lifestyle. When Siera became pregnant, both were happy. They were graced with two healthy little girls. The twins were quite beautiful, and their life seemed almost charmed. From the start, it became apparent that the twins were rather different in many ways, and yet quite similar. While both had similar builds, Siraphe was always darker in hair color yet lighter in skin color. Seraphi was always a bold, energetic girl, with quite a few quirks, while Siraphe was quiet and reclusive with what seemed like a smoothed out personality. (Of course, as turns passed it seemed that Siraphe was more of the scheming genius than the quiet girl they had assumed she was.)
Regardless of their differences, the twins were very close. While most nicknamed them 'Sera' and 'Sira,' they had their own nicknames for each other...'Fi' and 'Fey.' They seemed to share a secret language, able to communicate non-verbally. It was as if they knew each other more than anyone could ever know them...and in a way, that was quite true. After all, they spent every waking moment together for most of their childhood. Although Seraphi was a friendly girl, Siraphe was quite the recluse. She only opened up to her sister, looking down on all other interactions. Not only were the two sisters, they were also best friends.
From the start, however, it seemed that Seraphi was a bit different: she was interested in females. Before Siraphe even began to show the faintest interest in males, Seraphi was off admiring the girls around the weyr. This caused their parents a bit of unease. Of course, neither considered themselves homophobic, but they had not considered the possibility that one of their lovely little girls would turn to other females, rather than continuing their rich and proud heritage, especially in this world where a dragonrider's lineage was so important. Eventually, the two came to terms with it, and continued to love their daughters for who they were.
Both parents were overjoyed when Keyvetarth, Seira's green, searched both girls. Although, as weyrbrats, they had the right to stand, it was important to Seira that her own dragon dubbed them potential riders. The two moved to the candidate barracks, though neither Impressed right away. Seraphi was sure that she'd Impress a male dragon. After all, she was a bit masculine herself. It wasn't until Seraphi was seventeen turns that she Impressed, but not to a male dragon.
The clutch was a small one, born of a tiny, delicate teal, though the clutchfather was a massive and bulky bronze. One of the smallest eggs began to hatch, spilling a near-white hatchling onto the sands. She stood up, and slowly made her way towards the females...though her wings and tail dragged through the sand as she did. A hatched clutchbrother, a blue, rushed to her side, mistaking laziness for distress. She mauled him without hesitation, and Impressed to Seraphi. The pair graduated a year later, and are currently adjusting to the life of dragon and rider.
